Terms of reference: Kashmir Solidarity Movement
Kashmir Solidarity Movement (KSM) is a collective dedicated to raising awareness of the Kashmir conflict and promoting the right to self-determination of all regions of the former princely state of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K). KSM seeks to build solidarity with the people of J&K by taking our lead from the grassroots resistance movement against the occupation. We are not affiliated with any political party in South Asia.
Aims and objectives
• To highlight and raise awareness of the issues affecting J&K, including the origins and history of the conflict and human rights abuses carried out in the whole region.
• To work within the J&K diaspora in order to achieve a settlement that accords with the aspirations of the people of J&K, organising campaigns and lobbying relevant bodies to uphold international law and the right to self-determination as enshrined in the UN Charter.
• To promote a resolution of the conflict by focusing on the right to self-determination of the people of J&K.
• To work with other social and political movements in order to build networks of solidarity and mutual aid.
